The Medicaid waiver exists to help people live independently.

So does Dose Health.

Falls and missed medications are the two shortest routes from home to a higher level of care, and they're also the most addressable. With Dose Health, you can cover both of them with one referral.

Why we're here

Dose Health was founded in 2014 with a simple observation:

The technology to support people at home already existed, but it wasn't reaching those who needed it most.

Thirteen years later, we're still working on the same problem. No one should lose their home over a missed dose or a fall on the kitchen floor.

Our history

From notebook sketch to nation-wide waiver provider

A 1,200 mile move

2013

Our founder Paul's grandmother fell, recovered, and still lost her home — because nobody could be there twice a day to help sort out her pills.

Shortly after helping her move in with his aunt across the country, Paul sketched out the first version of the Flip.

First prototype Flip

2014

This is actually a 3D-printed version from a few months later. We'll leave the handcrafted original that our founder made in his oven to your imagination.

First production Flip

2015

We still have units from 2019 in service — that's seven years in someone's kitchen, dispensing twice a day.

The internals have improved along the way, but the core design that we committed to in 2015 is still supporting medication adherence today.

First state Medicaid
Waiver approval

2016

Minnesota approved the Flip under code T2029 and for the first time, a case manager could write us into a service plan instead of telling a family to buy something out-of-pocket.

Designing for more hands

2018

The Flip worked well for most people and not at all for some. This was the year we started closing that gap, beginning with hand mobility.

Expansion into
Medical Alerts

2019

Case managers had been telling us for years that they were coordinating two vendors for two risks that end the same way, so we stopped telling them to call someone else.

5,000 supported
individuals

2024

A worthy milestone to celebrate, but more importantly: forty-six of them had been with us for nearly all of it, including one who's been in her own home all the way back since 2016.

Today

In 2013, staying home wasn't an option for Paul's grandmother. Now, there's Dose Health.
